Description: From introduction: The data presented here are reconnaissance data intended for use in identifying broad areas for further study. While care has been taken to provide reliable sampling and analyses, verification of individual analyses is beyond the scope of this report. The data should be viewed statistically because "one-point anomalies" may be misleading. Regional trends, however, should be reliable. This report is one of a series presenting data obtained by SRL reconnaissance.

Reconnaissance of Ground-Water Quality, Eastern Snake River Basin, Idaho

Description: From purposes of approach of study: The purposes of this study were to: (1) Define, on a reconnaissance level, current (1979) water-quality conditions in major aquifers (water-yielding rock formations) in the eastern Snake River basin; (2) present available geologic and hydrologic data to assist in understanding the natural and man-caused factors that affect water-quality conditions; and (3) establish a hydrologic base upon which future comparisons can be made to evaluate changes.

Reconnaissance for Radioactive Minerals in Washington, Idaho, and Western Montana, 1952-1955

Description: From abstract: Approximately fifty radioactive deposits and nearly fifty properties not abnormally radioactive were examined during a geologic reconnaissance for radioactive minerals in Idaho, Washington, and western Montana during the period July 1952 -- June 1955. The most important uranium deposits are in or near granitic to quartz monzonitic intrusions of probable Cretaceous age in central and northern Idaho, westernmost Montana, and northeastern Washington.
