[Letter from Mary and Charles B. Moore to Linnet Moore, October 30, 1898]

Description: Letters from Charles B. and Mary Moore to their daughter Linnet while she is visiting friends and relatives. Ethel and Gertie came to see her not knowing she was gone. Gertie is having a candy breaking for her birthday. They discuss the cotton picking that has been happening and describe a cotton throwing spree among the Newman boys that called for injuries needing Dr. Hodges. Includes note written on small slip of paper talking about weather and a woman who will board with them.

[Two Letters to Linnet, 1898]

Description: Two letters written to Linnet Moore. The first, from E. E. Welherald discusses local news, a church function, and inquires about the well being of Linnet's family. Charles Moore wrote an additional letter to Linnet on the reverse side of E. E. Welherald's letter, wherein he wrote about Welherald, family business, and news. The letters included two envelopes since the first letter and envelope was forwarded after adding notes.

[Memo from J. M Pearson to Charles B. Moore, October 30, 1901]

Description: This document is from the Charles B. Moore Collection. it is a memo written by J. M Pearson to Moore discussing Moore's will. Pearson states that Moore must have his will probated and include a clause that makes Moore's wife an executor of his will without bond or expense except to probate will, file inventory, and appraisal of the estate. He includes a clause that should be used by Moore in his will. In the memo's closing remarks, Pearson encloses the will and states that he sends his best wishes for Moore's present and future well-being. The memo is dated October 30, 1901.

Preliminary Tests of a Buffet Stall-Warning Device on a 1/5-Scale Model of the Republic XP-84 Airplane

Description: "During the first flight tests of the Republic XP-84 airplane it was discovered that there was a complete lack of stall warning. A short series of development tests of a suitable stall-warning device for the airplane was therefore made on a 1/5-scale model in the Langley 300 MPH 7- by 10-foot tunnel. Two similar stall-warning devices, each designed to produce early root stall which would provide a buffet warning, were tested" (p. 1).

Experimental investigation of performance and operating characteristics of a tail-pipe burner for a turbojet engine

Description: Report presenting an investigation to obtain fundamental information required for the design of a satisfactory tail-pipe burner for augmenting turbojet engine thrust. Investigations were also conducted to determine the combustion and pressure-drop characteristics of the most satisfactory burner, to develop a method of controlling the burner-outlet temperature distribution, and to improve the burner ignition characteristics.
