Harnessing nanofiber alignment and pore size to promote stem cell self-renewal and differentiation

Description: Article describes how stem cell therapy holds immense potential for regenerative medicine, but its applications are limited due to the loss of pluripotency during in vitro expansion. This study reveals that the arrangement of electrospun fibers aligns with the distribution and strength of the electric field through both experimentation and simulation.

Sibling Aggression, Feeding Rates, and Hatch Rank of Nestling Red-Shouldered Hawks (Buteo lineatus)

Description: Article describes how, in many raptor species, hatching asynchrony results in a size hierarchy among nestlings, which may facilitate brood reduction by means of sibling aggression-induced mortality, especially in times of low food resources. The authors studied the influence of hatch rank, brood size, and brood age on aggression and feeding rates among Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus) nestlings in suburban southwestern Ohio.

Dynamic Motions of Topological Defects in Nematic Liquid Crystals under Spatial Confinement

Description: Article discusses how topological defects (TDs) have become a sensational topic due to their significant influence on the unusual optical and physiochemical characteristics of the material. Here, authors assert how nematic liquid crystals confined in a cell exhibiting surfaces with periodic anchoring conditions containing surface topography are relied on.
