The Theory of Propellers 2: Method for Calculating the Axial Interference Velocity

Description: "A technical method is given for calculating the axial interference velocity of a propeller. The method involves the use of certain weight functions P, Q, and F. Numerical values for the weight functions are given for two-blade, three-blade, and six-blade propellers" (p. 53).

Summary of measurements in Langley full-scale tunnel of maximum lift coefficients and stalling characteristics of airplanes

Description: "The results of measurements in the Langley full-scale tunnel of the maximum lift coefficients and stalling characteristics of airplanes have been collected. The data have been analyzed to show the nature of the effects on maximum lift and stall of wing geometry, fuselages and nacelles, propeller slipstream, surface roughness, and wing leading-edge appendages such as ducts, armaments, tip slats, and airspeed heads. Comparisons of full-scale-tunnel and flight measurements of maximum lift and sta… more

Résumé of NACA Stability and Control Tests of the Bell P-63 Series Airplane

Description: Report on stability and control tests of the Bell P-63 series airplanes. Information about the spin characteristics, lateral control characteristics, longitudinal stability and control characteristics and directional stability and control characteristics is provided. A chronology of testing and detailed description of the airplane and its modifications are also provided.

The Effects of a Highly Cambered Low-Drag Wing and of Auxiliary Flaps on the High-Speed Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Twin-Engine Pursuit Airplane Model

Description: Results are presented for tests of two wings, an NACA 230-series wing and a highly-cambered NACA 66-series wing on a twin-engine pursuit airplane. Auxiliary control flaps were tested in combinations with each wing. Data showing comparison of high-speed aerodynamic characteristics of the model when equipped with each wing, the effect of the auxiliary control flaps on aerodynamic characteristics, and elevator effectiveness for the model with the 66-series wing are presented. High-speed aerodynami… more

Comparative Tests of High Voltage Resistors Used for Voltmeter Bleeders

Description: The following report describes tests made for the purpose of determining the accuracy and permanency of various types of high resistance bleeders, and their resistance variation during use over a period of approximately six months.

On the Boundary Condition Between Two Multiplying Media

Description: The transition region between two parts of a pile which have different compositions is investigated. In the case where the moderator is the same in both parts of the pile, it is found that the diffusion constant times thermal neutron density plus diffusion constant times fast neutron density satisfied the use pile equations everywhere, right to the boundary. More complicated formulae apply in a more general case.
