Description: Matilda had received and written back already, but hasn't heard anything from them yet. She says that they are doing well, but the county is sick with pneumonia. They have been gardening in the dry weather, but it might frost. She doesn't expect any peaches because of the bad weather. She should finish her quilt by tomorrow.
