A Comparison of Slang Diction in Young Adult Correspondence

Description: Poster exploring diction of young adults in letters from 1937 to 1945. These letters come from the Antone Bruns Letter Collection which is a part of the National Museum of the Pacific War Digital Archive housed in the Portal to Texas History. The collection features approximately 700 letters between Antone Bruns and his girlfriend—later wife—Otha Lee Bruns, and is an excellent example of young adult diction at the time. Anisotropic Flow in the Forward Directions

Description: The STAR Forward TPCs (FTPCs) extend the STAR acceptance for charged particles into the region 2.5 < |eta| < 4.0. We see the first signal of directed flow (v{sub 1}) at RHIC energies. While v{sub 1} is consistent with zero in the central rapidity region it rises up to 2 percent at pseudorapidities of +-4. With this signal we can verify that elliptic flow (v{sub 2}) is in-plane.
