Effects of oxygen cover gas and NaOH dilution on gas generation in tank 241-SY-101 waste

Description: Laboratory studies are reported of gas generation in heated waste from tank 241-SY-101. The rates of gas generation and the compositions of product gas were measured. Three types of tests are compared. The tests use: undiluted waste, waste diluted by a 54% addition of 2.5 M NaOH, and undiluted waste with a reactive cover gas of 30% Oxygen in He. Transient coherent synchrotron radiation in magnetic bending systems

Description: Transient evolution of the power radiated coherently by a charged- particle bunch orbiting between two infinite, parallel conducting plates is calculated. Description: CEBAF, the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility, is a 5-pass, recirculating, superconducting rf linac designed to provide exceptional beam quality at 4 GeV up to 200 {mu}A CW. 100-D Ponds groundwater quality assessment

Description: The 100-D Ponds facility is regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976. The pH of groundwater in a downgradient well is statistically different than local background, triggering an assessment of groundwater contamination under 40 CFR 265.93. Results of a similar assessment, conducted in 1993, show that the elevated pH is caused by the presence of alkaline ash sediments beneath the ponds, which are not part of the RCRA unit. Energy spread from rf amplitude and phase errors

Description: The energy spread in the beam due to rf amplitude and phase errors is calculated for multiple passes and off-crest operation. Effects of the slow phase errors and feedback systems are included in the calculation. If an rms energy spread requirement is to be met, a final formula gives the tradeoff between slow and fast phase errors and amplitude errors.
