Description: During the months of August and September, 1979, geoMetrics, Inc. collected 12,415 line miles of high sensitivity airborne radiometric and magnetic data in adjoining portions of South Dakota and Minnesota over seven 1 by 2 degree NTMS quadrangles (Thief River Falls, Grand Forks, Fargo, Milbank, Watertown, New Ulm, and St. Cloud). All radiometric and magnetic data were fully corrected and interpreted and are presented as eight volumes.

One-dimensional model calculations of EBT-P performance

Description: Model calculations are described for possible EBT-P designs using a one-dimensional, fluid-transport code. We begin by giving a detailed description of our most updated and complete version of the code itself, so that the appendix is, as far as practical, self-contained. Calculations were performed with the code for the EBT-1 experiment to compare with previous ORNL calculations. One-dimensional calculations for possible EBT-P experimental designs were presented.

Wigglers, beam emittance and energy spread

Description: Wigglers are used in storage rings to increase the beam emittance for maximum luminosity. If, however, a storage ring is used as a synchrotron light source a beam emittance as small as possible is desired. Also in special cases in high energy physics research a large luminosity achieved with wigglers may not be the optimum running configuration. Is it possible to improve the eventrate for narrow resonances in SPEAR and PEP

Description: The eventrate at narrow resonances, like the /psi//J and /Tau/ resonances, is not only determined by the luminosity of the e/sup +/ and e /sup /minus// storage ring but also by the energy spread in the beam due to synchrotron radiation. This energy spread is much larger than the width of the resonances. Therefore, if the energy spread could be reduced by a factor F the eventrate would increase by the same factor.

One and one-half dimensional model of the EBT reactor

Description: A one-dimensional, time-dependent model is described for plasma particle and energy transport and alpha particle transport coupled with magnetic field evolution in a geometry appropriate to EBT. The transport equations used are derived from exact moments of the Boltzmann equation, and the magnetic field is calculated from Faraday's and Ampere's laws.
