Description: Updated report about work that originated in February 1942 for the purpose of determining minor amounts of cadmium in uranium and related materials. A method was developed over a long series of studies made following the original report for determining small amounts of various materials in uranium and in a variety of other materials.

A Method for the Determination of Traces of Metals III : Studies of the Distillation of Amalgams

Description: Summary: "It has been demonstrated that the electrolysis-distillation stages of the procedure that has been developed for traces of metals may be utilized, with certain precautions, to recover milligram quantities of cadmium, cobalt, copper, iron, nickel and zinc. Lead remains partially as undissolved lead sulfate and hence the recovery of amounts ranging from 1 - 5 mg. is not advisable by this procedure."

The Hematological Effects of Ionizing Radiations

Description: This report follows the hematological studies conducted on the Plutonium Project. The studies focus on the internal and external effects of plutonium radiation on biological features, applying these effects toward the protection of individuals who worked in the Project, and using the findings generally for the protection of the public which was potentially in danger of exposure to these physical hazards.
