Top physics: measurement of the tt-bar production cross section in pp-bar collisions at s**(1/2) = 1.96 tev using dilepton event

Description: We report a measurement of the t{bar t} production cross section using dilepton events with jets and missing transverse energy in p{bar p} collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. Using a 197 {+-} 12 pb{sup -1} data sample recorded by the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab, we use two complementary techniques to select candidate events. Temperature limits based on the saturation temperature in Hanford waste storage tanks

Description: This report calculates limits on the measured temperature readings to limit the occurrence of saturation temperatures in Hanford waste storage tanks. The results in this report show that the temperature reported by a thermocouple tree in a double-shell tank can be significantly below the maximum waste temperature and that provisions should be made for that offset in any tank temperature monitoring program. Description: This report documents a thermal model of tank 241-SY-101 and the surrounding soil column that was used to predict tank temperatures resulting from heating of the annulus ventilation air. COST COMPARISONS OF CAPITOL INVESTMENT IN VARIOUS NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS FOR CENTRAL STATION APPLICATION

Description: The capital costs for a number of power reactors are compared after escalation to equivalent construction dates. It is shown that the most important factor affecting nuclear power plant capital costs is the net capacity of the plant. Steam conditions are shown to have a relatively minor effect on capital costs.
