Fractures and Failure Mechanics in Loess and Applications to Rock Mechanics
Description:
Report describing a study of rock mechanics, clarifying certain aspects of the following processes: fracture propagation, arching, subsidence, landsliding, and rockfalling. The purpose of the study, characteristics and behavior of loess, environment and conditions leading to loess failure, types of failure of loess, stress states, description and analysis of selected failures, and extension of concepts to other materials are discussed.
