Rites of Passage, 24 hours in passage international

Description: Recording of Stelios Giannoulakis' Rites of Passage, 24 hours in passage international. This work was commissioned for Passage Subé in Reims and was performed there with live spatialization. The composer recorded a 24-hour cycle in an area with several small shops and derived the musical structure from the distribution of energy over this cycle. This piece keeps strong references to the real world as we start following tangents that lead to much unexpected places.

Just too many words

Description: Recording of Lidia Zielińska's Just too many words. This work was born from the excess of words in the TV news and comments. The composer wonders how and to such extent is it worth keeping yourself away from the stream of words and at the same time not wanting to miss anything important. In this piece there is no place for silence. The composer wanted to build the whole piece from the planes of different textures, referring to different ways of speech perception.

Description: Recording of Itsevan Szigeti's F.ott.ag. In this work, the principle of the dual world, of the ambigious, uncertain universe, remains the basic aesthetic determinant. The composition combines a bassoon voice with a tape featuring sounds of animals such as woodpeckers, cicadas, bumblebees, and frogs; transformed bassoon sounds; and natural sounds, such as the collision of icefloes and the fluttering of wings.

This work revolves around the composer's interest in the problem of rhetoric which includes the works of musical Romanticism and those of the piano.
