Mechanical Properties of Nugget Sandstone

Description: The mechanical properties of Nugget sandstone have been determined from a number of independent measurements at pressures up to 30 kbar. Pressure- volume, strength, uniaxial stress, and uniaxial strain tests yield the failure surface and effective moduli as a function of stress state, i.e., mean pressure and shear stress. INSENS classification algorithm report

Description: This report describes a new algorithm developed for the Imigration and Naturalization Service (INS) in support of the INSENS project for classifying vehicles and pedestrians using seismic data. This algorithm is less sensitive to nuisance alarms due to environmental events than the previous algorithm. Furthermore, the algorithm is simple enough that it can be implemented in the 8-bit microprocessor used in the INSENS system.
