Drilling fluid/formation interaction at simulated in situ geothermal conditions. Final report

Description: Interaction of drilling fluids with a geothermal reservoir formation can result in significant permeability impairment and therefore reduced well productivity. This interaction is studied under simulated in situ geothermal conditions of overburden stress, pore fluid pressure, temperature, and pore fluid chemistry. Description: This study demonstrates, on the basis of several analyanalytical criteria, that the production and extracellular release of cyclic adenosine 3':5'-monophosphate (cAMP) is widespread among phytoplankton species. The production and release of CAMP varied markedly among different species grown under similar environmental conditions, and intraspecifically during the life cycle of a given algal species. Raft River well stimulation experiments: geothermal reservoir well stimulation program

Phytoplankton Dynamics in Oceanic Waters Off Ke-Ahole Point, Hawaii

Description: Phytoplankton activity in an oligotrophic environment was studied on six cruises over a 14-month period. Description: Simultaneous size fractionation of plankton populations associated with NaH^14CO_3 and ^3H-glucose uptake was employed in eutrophic Lake Texoma (Texas and Oklahoma) and oligotrophic Flathead Lake (Montana). Impact analysis of OSM regulations on highwall mining systems. Final report

Shale Recharge and Production Behavior of Geopressured Reservoirs

Description: The reservoir simulator MUSHRM was used to study the conditions under which significant shale recharge may be expected. The calculations presented herein show that shale recharge is a strong function of the vertical shale permeability but is not greatly influenced by the shale compressibility.
