Heavy ion drivers for inertial confinement fusion

Description: The advantages of heavy ion beams as a way of delivering the needed energy and power to an inertial fusion target are surveyed. The existing broad technology base of particle accelerators provides an important foundation for designing, costing, and evaluating proposed systems. Thermionic cogeneration burner assessment study performance analysis results
