Positron acceleration to 200 MeV

Description: 220 MeV is the energy that has to be obtained in routine operation. A standard 12m girder with SLED II can give 220 MeV minus a few percent due to not riding at the crest of the wave. In order to have the 200 MeV with only one girder, a klystron at full power all the time would be required - kept brand new. Design and Factory Test of the E /E- Frascati Linear Accelerator for DAFNE

Description: The electron-positron accelerator for the DAFNE project has been built and is in test at Titan Beta in Dublin, CA. This S-Band RF linac system utilizes four 45 MW sledded klystrons and 16-3 m accelerating structures to achieve the required performance. Beam dynamics studies of the 8 GeV Linac at FNAL

Description: The proposed 8-GeV proton driver (PD) linac at FNAL includes a front end up to {approx}420 MeV operating at 325 MHz and a high energy section at 1300 MHz. 20-MW Magnicon for ILC

Description: The 1.3 GHz RF power to drive ILC is now planned to be supplied by 600-1200, 10-MW peak power multi-beam klystrons. Superconducting Materials Testing with a High-Q Copper RF Cavity

Description: Superconducting RF is of increasing importance in particle accelerators. We have developed a resonant cavity with high quality factor and an interchangeable wall for testing of superconducting materials. Design study of beam dynamics issues for 1 TeV next linear collider based upon the relativistic-klystron two-beam accelerator

Description: A design study has recently been conducted for exploring the feasibility of a relativistic-klystron two-beam accelerator (RK-TBA) system as a rf power source for a 1 TeV linear collider. The author present, in this paper, the beam dynamics part of this study. They have achieved in their design study acceptable transverse and longitudinal beam stability properties for the resulting high efficiency and low cost RK-TBA.

Final Design of the SLAC P2 Marx Klystron Modulator

Description: The SLAC P2 Marx has been under development for two years, and follows on the P1 Marx as an alternative to the baseline klystron modulator for the International Linear Collider. The status of the SLC

Description: On October 10,1987, the SLC ceased commissioning activities to move the Mark II detector into the beam line for the spring physics run. The planned shutdown is for a period of 13 weeks. Final report: Efficient thyratron modulator project

Description: The purpose of this program was to examine methods of increasing the efficiency of producing pulses to drive Klystrons in the 150 MW range. This may include 2 Klystrons in the 75 MW range. Specific methods of interest to improve the pulse efficiency were the use of a circuit to add energy to the tail of the pulse, the use of a bipyrimidal transformer, and the use of gas insulation as a means of improving the pulse shape.
