Compressed Air System Improvement Project Saves Foundry Energy and Increases Production

Description: This case study highlights International Truck and Engine Corporation's optimization project on the compressed air system that serves its foundry, Indianapolis Casting Corporation. Due to the project's implementation, the system's efficiency was greatly improved, allowing the foundry to operate with less compressor capacity, which resulted in reduced energy consumption, significant maintenance savings, and more reliable production.

Development of a thermoacoustic natural gas liquefier.

Description: Praxair, in conjunction with the Los Alamos National Laboratory, is developing a new technology, thermoacoustic heat engines and refrigerators, for liquefaction of natural gas. This is the only technology capable of producing refrigeration power at cryogenic temperatures with no moving parts. Description: This engineering note is a collection of pipe pressure testing documents for various sections of piping for the D-Zero cryogenic and gas systems. Theory and simulation of CSR microbunching in bunch compressors.

Description: CSR microbunching instability in bunch compressors is studied both analytically and numerically. Upgrading the Sns Compressor Ring to 3 Mw.

Description: The initial performance goal for the SNS compressor ring is 1.4 MW with 1.0 GeV linac beam.
