The growth of YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7-{delta}} (YBCO) high-temperature superconductor thin films has largely been limited to deposition on single-crystal substrates to date. In order to expand the range of potential applications, growth on polycrystalline and amorphous substrates is desirable.
