Smart Surfaces: New Coatings & Paints with Radiation Detection Functionality

Description: Paints are being developed and tested that might ultimately be able to detect radiological agents in the environment by incorporating special pigments into an organic polymeric binder that can be applied as a paint or coatings. The use of capacitive deionization with carbon aerogel electrodes to remove inorganic contaminants from water

Description: The capacitive deionization of water with a stack of carbon aerogel electrodes has been successfully demonstrated for the first time.
