A Comparison of Changes in Several Psychological Measures for Lower Socio-Economic Children, Living in a Children's Home and Living in Their Own Homes

Description: The problem of the present study is to investigate the consequences of an institutional program planned to develop positive interpersonal relations on the educational achievement, mental, health, and attitudes and outlook of a group of dependent and neglected children. The experimental group was composed of children in a home for dependent and neglected children in a large southwestern city. These children were compared to a control group whose parents were in the same socio-economic class, and who attended Sunday School for lower income families in a large Southern Baptist church in the same locality.

The Relationship between the Interaction of Two Anxiety Variables and Creative Production

Description: It is evident that educators and industrial psychologists alike recognize the effect that situational climate may have upon creative production. The present study will, hopefully, contribute some useful information leading to a better definition of the relationship between anxiety and creative production, which will lead in time to suggestions regarding the essential conditions of an optimum creative climate. The exploration of some of the aspects involved in situational climates is the point of departure for the present study.

Relationships Between Self-Actualization and Sociometric Status for Adolescents

Description: It was the purpose of this present investigation to display the tentative relationships between self-actualization and sociometric status of adolescent school students. In light of the theoretical and related literature presented, the following hypotheses were posited: 1) students who are high sociometrically will evidence higher personal orientation inventory (POI) means than the middle or low groups on more positive POI scales and 2) students who are low or middle sociometrically will evidence higher POI means than the high group on the major negative POI scales.

The Relationship Between Aggression and Parental Contact in Institutionalized Mentally Retarded Males

Correlates of Adult Sociometric Perception of Residential Groups of Emotionally Disturbed Children

Description: The purpose of the present study is to determine whether adult supervisors of children's groups who accurately perceive the interpersonal structure of their groups are more able managers of their groups than are those adults who inaccurately judge the group's interpersonal structure.
