An analysis and overview of the economic relations between Turkey and the European Economic Community

Description: This study analyzes the economic relations between Turkey and the European Economic Community (EEC) in the transition period of Turkey's membership in the Common Market. Turkey applied for membership in the EEC in 1959, and the association agreement was signed in 1963. Under the terms of the agreement Turkey's membership includes three stages; preparatory, transition, and full membership.

Social factors in adolescent suicidal ideation and behavior

Description: The decision by teenagers either to consider or to attempt to commit suicide was addressed in this research. Covariance structure analysis (LISREL) techniques were used to examine the influence of four social-psychological factors (psychic disruption, delinquency, family disruption, and school problems) upon a suicidal orientation.

The Bombay Stock Exchange: tests of market efficiency

Description: This dissertation analyzes the efficiency of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the relationship of stock return patterns on the BSE with those of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The data includes daily closing values of the BSE and S&P 500 Indexes for the period 1979-1990 and bi-weekly closing prices on 27 of the most active stocks on the BSE for the period 1980-1990.

Ethical reasoning and risk propensity: a comparison of hospital and general industry senior executives

Description: This research explores whether differences in ethical reasoning levels exist between senior hospital managers and top level general industry executives. Similar comparisons are made between not-for-profit hospital managers and their peers in for-profit hospitals. Also examined are the ethical reasoning levels used most often by practicing executives, regardless of industry affiliation.

The method for determination of the knowledge was presented as subjects' responses to the Employability Inventory (EI). As an antecedent to this, the EI was subjected to validation procedures. The cycloaddition of ketenes and silyl enol ethers

Description: The (2+2) cycloaddition of ketenes and trimethylsilyl enol ethers was found to proceed in good yield to give trimethylsiloxycyclobutanones of unique and interesting regiochemistry and stereochemistry. As electron-rich activated olefins, the trimethylsilyl enol ethers readily reacted with the electron-deficient ketenes.
