Affordable Resins and Adhesives From Optimized Soybean Varieties (ARA Program)

Description: The Mission of the ARA Program was to develop the Corporate Infrastructure to mass-produce new bio-based materials from Soybeans. The resins were integrated with the bio-fuels program. Agricultural sector impacts of making ethanol from grain

Description: This report presents the results of a model of the effects on the agricultural sector of producing ethanol from corn in the United States between 1979 and 1983. The model is aggregated at the national level, and results are given for all of the major food and feed crops, ethanol joint products, farm income, government payment, and agricultural exports. Description: The impact of ozone on the qualitative characteristics of potatoes, alfalfa and soybeans is discussed. Application of solar energy to industrial drying of soybeans: Phase III, performance evaluation. Final report

Description: A 15-month performance evaluation was conducted on a solar system designed and constructed to augment the industrial drying of soybeans at the Gold Kist, Inc., extraction plant in Decatur, Alabama. The plant employs three oil-fired, continuous-flow dryers of 3,000 bu/hr each. The solar system consists of 672 Solaron air collectors that temper the airflow into the existing dryers. Estimates of process energy use in four key food products industries

Description: Process energy profiles were developed for a representative plant in each of four selected food processing industries. These were: wet corn milling, hog slaughtering and processing, potato dehydration, and soybean crushing. Estimates of total energy consumption per pound of raw product input to each process were derived from in-plant studies. Global crop yield losses from recent warming

Description: Global yields of the world-s six most widely grown crops--wheat, rice, maize, soybeans, barley, sorghum--have increased since 1961. Year-to-year variations in growing season minimum temperature, maximum temperature, and precipitation explain 30% or more of the variations in yield. Harvesting Soy-Bean Seed
