Hat

Description: Hat of gray suede. Designed as a modified fedora, the high, domed crown is lightly creased from front to back, and is encircled at its base by a narrow hatband of the same suede, with trailing ribbons. The medium-width brim is of the same suede, and slopes slightly to the outer edge. The brim is lined in the same suede, while the crown is lined in black fabric, with an inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Designer's label inside: "Givenchy / Paris"; "Made in / France"

Hat

Description: Hat of light navy blue felt. Brimless, the hat has a domed crown, sloping gently at front and more steeply at back, with slight "under-cut" at back and back of sides. The edges of the hat extend under and back towards crown, creating a "under brim", which gives the illusion that the hat is "floating" above the wearer's head. Hat is unlined, with inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband, and a short length of grosgrain ribbon across inside front of crown to help hat keep its shape. No labels.

Description: Skirt suit ensemble: A) Blazer jacket of black silk gaberdine. Short waist with notched collar. Double breasted with four 1" mother-of-pearl buttons; closure reinforced with clear plastic button inside jacket. Three-quarter length, set-in sleeves with snap closure at slit. Two false pockets with rectangular flaps. Lined in black silk faille. B) Skirt of white linen. Knee-length skirt with 1 inch waist band. Slightly A-line. In-seam front panel pockets. Left side zipper closure with two large silver colored hook and eyes. Skirt looks to have been let out at hem. Lined in ivory silk. Designer's label on inside left seam of lining: "Norman Norell / New York"

Description: Hat of black velvet. Styled as a modified Breton hat, the tall, cylindrical crown is gently domed, and encircled by the wide brim, which extends out and turns up to vertical. The "underside" of the brim is faced with the same black velvet. The crown is lined in black silk(?) satin, and has a black grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. Designer's label on inner hatband: "Givenchy / Paris"; "Made in / France".

Pillbox Hat

Description: Hat of brown velvet. Pillbox hat with cylindrical crown of brown velvet, flat at top. Lower edge scalloped, edged with brown beads. The whole is overlaid with fine brown veiling. Lined in black mesh and edged with brown grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. Affixed to hatband are two plastic combs, one on either side, to secure hat to wearer's head. Designer's label inside crown: "Bes-Ben / Made in Chicago".

Beachwear Ensemble - Bikini and Coverup

Description: Beach ensemble consisting of bikini and coverup. The bikini top and bottom are of jersey printed with a modern art design of greens, pink and red stripes. Top has ties that go up and behind neck, and bands that reach around to back and secure with metal clasp. At front, between the cups along top edge is a non-functional tie made of piping made from the jersey material. Bikini bottom is low-cut. The coverup is of light chiffon, possibly silk, with swirling stripes in the same pattern as bikini. It is sleeveless, has a boat neckline, and rounded hemline. The pieces of the ensemble have various tags: In bikini top: "12" In bikini bottom: "Emilio Schuberth / Roma / Fabricato in Italia"; Made in Italy / Exclusively for / Neiman-Marcus"; "Made in Italy"; "12"; Helanca / Filanca / Marche Int. Dep." Stamped near hem of coverup: "Enzo Mari Per / Fio / Rio"; Sewn in tags: "Fio / Rio"; "Emilio Schuberth / Roma / Fabricato in Italia". Pattern designed by Enzo Mari (b. Novara, Italy, 1932). From the original Carrie Marcus Neiman Foundation collection assembled by Stanley and Edward Marcus.

Evening Dress

Description: Evening dress of silk printed with Pucci-style abstract design in pink, purple, blue, yellow, grey, and off-white abstract design. Full length, with slightly flared, 3/4 length sleeves. Dropped waist. Diagonal seams from mid-waist to V-neck front. Center back zipper closure with hook & eye. Fully lined in yellow silk with jacquard maker's logo throughout. Designer's label inside back near neckline: "Bessi / Firenze Italia" Fabric has "Bessi" signature in fabric design. Care tag 1 inch below maker's tag: "To be dry cleaned only / Lavare a Secco" "Made in Italy Pure Silk" sewn in just below care tag.

Textile

Description: Textile. Rectangular panel of handwoven cotton/wool, with fringed ends. Mexican weaving, in the Saltillo style, done in reds, blacks, blues, greens, and white. Inlay designs with central diamond shape formed of chevrons and diamonds, width-wise stripes of gradated colors, and bands with short trapezoidal gradated bars of color.

Description: Small girl's two-piece ensemble of navy blue acrylic/wool pique and white vinyl. A) Coat. Double breasted with six circular gold tone buttons and barred buttonholes. Long, set in sleeves. U-shaped patch pockets trimmed with placket of white vinyl and matching gold button. Standing collar, cuffs, and epaulets of white vinyl. Content/size tag at center back neckline. B) Dress. Sleeveless. White vinyl top has rounded neckline and navy blue topstitching. Navy blue A-line skirt. Center back zipper closure. Evening ensemble

Description: Evening ensemble of champagne duchesse(?) silk. A) Main garment, one-piece, which appears to be a coat and jumpsuit from front, and a jumpsuit from back. Full-length, with long sleeves. "Coat" with collar and center front opening; "Jumpsuit" with shallow V-neck and center front zipper from neckline to waist. Full-length legs. Legs of garment are not tubes, but are panels of fabric that wrap around, one edge being the inner edge of the coat for that side of the garment. Patch pockets at hips. Designer's label at inside back neck: "Stavropoulos / New York Athens" B) Narrow, rectangular stole, the ends heavily beaded with 3 1/2" deep triple-row of tiny rhinestones.
