[Alvin Owsley on Armstice Day]

Description: Photograph of a picture, that is displayed in a frame, of Alvin M. Owsley on Armistice Day. It was displayed in the Owsley Foyer after its dedication and a small paper beneath reads "National Commander of the American Legion Alvin M. Owsley addresses a crowd in Lincoln, Nebraska on Armistice Day in 1922. Owsley, born and raised in Denton, served as National Commander from 1922 to 1923."

[Owsley Foyer dedication plaque]

Description: Photograph of a plaque dedicated to Alvin and Lucy Owsley found in the Owsley Foyer of Willis Library. The plaque reads "For Alvin Mansfield Owsley 1888-1967 Lucy Ball Owsley 1896-1990; Their sons Alvin and David; Their daughter Constance; In appreciation for the generosity of the Owsley Family and Foundation in support of the preservation of the historical record in the University Archives, this plaque placed here by the University of North Texas Libraries. December 1996." Two portrait photos, one of Alvin (left) and one of Lucy (right), are on the plaque.
