In his travels he meets an old man whom he irritates, but lets the prince stay at his house overnight. In this popular story Prince Gulzaada wanders into a strange and wonderful land, where he finds a beautiful fairy bathing in a waterfall. He steals her clothing and convinces her to be his wife, but he must promise to remain faithful to her, else she eat his head. When he was forced to marry, the fairy stole him away to Fairyland.

Retelling of Juniper Tree of Boyo

Description: A recording of Dawar Muneeb reciting “The Juniper Tree of Boyo,” in the Hunza dialect. This story tells of a Big Juniper Tree before Islam came to the region. Under the tree lived creatures that were a mix of a puppy and a penguin, and they were fed to bring good luck to families.
