An Ethnic Spring in the Food Desert? How State Policy Affects Food Environments and Business Entrepreneurships

Description: Data management plan for the grant, "An Ethnic Spring in the Food Desert? How State Policy Affects Food Environments and Business Entrepreneurships." In food system research, the reduced quality of one's food environment (the combination of food security and food access) is a direct symptom of social, political, and economic disparities. Our research has three primary objectives: Aim 1: To determine the role of state policy in the food environment of immigrant communities and communities of color in the United States, Aim 2: To dissect how state and local policies affect the participation of these communities in the U.S. food system, local food environments, and food business ownership, and Aim 3: To explain the current role and the future role of local policy in the food environment of immigrant communities and communities of color in the United States.

In-Situ Monitoring for Quality Assurance and Machine Learning in Direct-Write Additive Manufacturing of 5G RF Electronic Ceramics

Description: Data management plan for the grant, "In-Situ Monitoring for Quality Assurance and Machine Learning in Direct-Write Additive Manufacturing of 5G RF Electronic Ceramics." The principal near-term objective of the PI is to use in-situ monitoring to define the processing rules that determine the microstructure, macrostructure, and high-frequency dielectric response of electronic ceramic materials for advanced RF “grown” by laser-assisted direct-write AM. In-situ measurements will be correlated and validated with ex-situ characterization, and these data will iteratively guide synthesis and processing optimization. In parallel, the experimental measurements will be used as inputs for the physics-based process modeling. Predictions from the experimentally validated models will in turn: 1) guide synthesis and processing optimization and, 2) train and constrain ML. Thus, quality assurance is achieved.

Low-Energy Atomic Processes Including Ones Involving a Positron

Description: Data management plan for the grant, "Low-Energy Atomic Processes Including Ones Involving a Positron." The proposed research in theoretical atomic physics involves few-body systems of charged particles, especially ones that involve the antiparticle of the electron, which is a positron. One of these systems is the positronium negative ion, which is comprised of two electrons and a positron. The exotic positronium atom is similar to the conventional hydrogen atom, but the positive charge in the atom is a positron rather than a proton. The proposed studies of these few-body charged systems will support international collaborations with scientists in the UK and Japan.

Project Communicate

Description: Data management plan for the grant, "Project Communicate." The purpose of Project Communicate is to professionally prepare 27 special education teachers and 10 speech-language pathologists, including scholars from ethnically and racially diverse backgrounds, to be highly-qualified to demonstrate skills in promoting high expectations to improve student outcomes, providing individualized evidence-based practices for students with autism spectrum disorder, and providing culturally and linguistically responsive instruction. Scholars will participate in a master’s degree program in Special Education (Autism Intervention) or Speech-Language Pathology designed to include coursework, integrated and embedded supervised field experiences, and other professional development opportunities for developing knowledge and skills for working with students with ASD in school-based settings.

Ultrawideband Near-Field Probe System for Antenna Research

Description: Data management plan for the grant, "Ultrawideband Near-Field Probe System for Antenna Research." The objective of this project is to acquire an ultrawideband near-field probe system to build a highly capable antenna measurement facility which will provide critical support for the research, development, and testing of new antenna designs and concepts at the University of North Texas (UNT). The requested near-field probe system will be integrated with existing hardware at UNT, including a vector network analyzer and an Albatross Projects shielded chamber, to complete the build for the measurement system that is capable of characterizing three-dimensional radiation patterns of antennas-under-test (AUT) over a wide frequency range of 0.65-18 GHz. The measurement facility will be used to not only support ongoing and future federally funded research of the principal investigators but also enhance undergraduate and graduate education and training in RF, microwave, and antenna engineering at UNT.

Collaborative Research: MRA: Particulates in canopy flowpaths: A missing mass flux at the macrosystem scale?

Description: Data management plan for the grant, "Collaborative Research: MRA: Particulates in canopy flowpaths: A missing mass flux at the macrosystem scale?" This research will investigate a vital, but currently uncharacterized, macrosystem biogeochemical function within forest canopies at the very start of the terrestrial hydrologic cycle: particulate concentration, flux, and composition in rainwaters draining from forest canopies. We will address three major objectives: (1) Estimate the net rainfall (TF+ SF) water and particulate mass flux across forest types; (2) Characterize the particulate composition (C:N:P, including C components, like total C, organic C, black C, and microplastic C) of TF and SF; and (3) Identify major drivers of macrosystem variability in net rainfall particulate flux and composition.
