Getty Sponsors Nation's Largest Art Education Reform Initiative

Description: A press information release on the Getty Center for Education in the Arts organizing one of the largest art education reform effort to be established. The reform program established itself with six institutes, reaching over two-hundred school districts in fifteen states and affecting nearly one million students since 1988. The purpose of the reform program is to train educators to use art in core education and implement art education programs to improve the curriculum.

Arts council's executive director resigns

Description: A newspaper clipping featuring an article on the Greater Denton Arts Council asking Janet Harreld, the executive director, to resign from her position after one year. GDAC president, Roni Beasley, said that Harreld resigned for personal reasons, however, Harreld said the board asked her to resign because of philosophical and managerial differences and did not give an elaborate explanation.
