Description: Early edition of Heidi by Johanna Spyri, translated by Louise Brooks. The front cover is a shade of yellow-brown, likely due from aging. The cover only has the book's title and an illustration of a branch of an evergreen tree with long thin needles. Wedding shoes

Description: Pair of plum purple satin pumps. The shoes are designed with a rounded toe, and plain uppers. The low heel is of a modified Louis or Cuban style, set in, and covered with matching fabric. Partly lined in white kidskin leather. Straw bonnet-style hat

Description: Hat in bonnet style of black straw with black velvet bow topped with lace at the crown. Gathered black lace on back; flat top 3" deep crown with center back side of crown cut for hair bun; 2 1/4" slightly downward brim; underbrim covered with gathered black crepe; brown cambric lining.

Description: Petticoat of off-white cotton flannel; tape tie center back closure. Waist has 4" fitted yoke with back gathers below yoke. 10" flounce at hem with three rows of cotton lace at hem. 84" (106.7 cm) around hem. Length: 32" (81.3 cm)

Description: Day cap of cream lace, pale green moire silk, and 1/4" black velvet ribbon. Pointed over forehead, lappets fall at sides of face, ends of lappets trimmed with knots of ribbon.

Bone folding fan

Description: Folding fan with 17 bone sticks; white lace with round and clover leaf shaped silver sequins. Sticks carved with tiny flower and dot designs on 8 sticks and leaf and curly designs on 9 sticks. Back of fan is not decorated.

Folding fan

Description: Folding fan. Guards and sticks of carved and pierced ivory (bone?) with a foliage designs. The white sheer doubled organdy leaf is hand-painted with central vignette of a garden scene of a couple greeting a woman seated on a bench. The leaf with added hand-panted border of a garland of flowers. Reverse is unadorned. No visible labels, marks or signatures.

Chemise

Description: Chemise of white cotton. Below-knee length. Wide rounded neckline edged with bobbin lace. Very short sleeves edged with same lace. Upper part of neckline and sleeves with white bands embroidered with white floral motifs and ribbons, alternating with bands of inset lace. No labels in garment.

White cotton chemise

Description: Chemise of white cotton. Knee or lower length. Sleeveless. Neck and armholes edged with lace, neckline with ivory satin ribbon threaded through lace and tied as bow in front. Inset at front of chemise just below neckline are bands of lace forming four squares of cotton, each with embroidered/appliqued/ built-up butterflies, with a crossing band of lace below. At hem is a narrow horizontal band of openwork. There are no labels in garment.

Description: Chemise of white cotton batiste with inserts of bands of lace create a bib, round open neckline trimmed in lace with beige ribbon gathering volume, ribbon tied at center front, sleeveless with armscyes trimmed in lace, knee length.
