Development and Test of a Single-Aperture 11 T Nb3Sn Demonstrator Dipole for LHC Upgrades.

Description: The upgrade of the LHC collimation system expects installation of additional collimators in the dispersion suppressor areas around the LHC ring. The longitudinal space for the collimators could be provided by replacing some 8.33 T Nb-Ti LHC main dipoles with shorter 11 T Nb/sub 3/Sn dipoles compatible with the LHC lattice and main systems. Test Results of the first 3.7 m Long Nb3Sn Quadrupole by LARP and Future Plans

Summary of HQ01e magnetic measurements

Description: The magnetic measurements of HQ01e, a 1 m long LHC Accelerator Research Program (LARP) high-gradient quadrupole model, were performed at 4.4 K and above 40 K at the magnet test facility of LBNL in July 2011. Radiation effects in a muon collider ring and dipole magnet protection

Description: The requirements and operating conditions for a Muon Collider Storage Ring (MCSR) pose significant challenges to superconducting magnets.
