Performance of proverbs of Ustaad Qadir

Description: Recording of Muneem Dawar discussing the proverbs of Ustaad Qadir in the Hunza dialect. Muneeb recalls the stories of Ustaad Qadir and recites some of his proverbs. Ustaad Qadir is sometimes referred to as "Berich Qadiro", although the term "Berich" is perceived to be derogatory by the native speakers. The term has been used to refer to the musicians class, which was stigmatized in the past.

Description: Photograph of Ghulamuddin Ghulam Hunzai, a respected veteran scholar and a well known poet (Hunza Burushaski and Persian). He has translated the Quran into Burushaski language for the first time. He is one of the few individuals who devised Perso-Arabic script based alphabets for writing and publishing Burushaski in 1940s.
