High beta and second stability region transport and stability analysis

This document describes ideal and resistive MHD studies of high-beta plasmas and of the second stability region. Significant progress is reported on the resistive stability properties of high beta poloidal supershot'' discharges. For these studies initial profiles were taken from the TRANSP code which is used extensively to analyze experimental data.
