Description: No-core shell model (NCSM) calculations using ab initio effective interactions are very successful in reproducing the experimental nuclear spectra. Description: We are developing cryogenic high-resolution x-ray, {gamma}-ray and neutron spectrometers based on superconducting Mo/Cu transition edge sensors. Comparison of Ramsauer and Optical Model Neutron Angular Distributions

Description: The nuclear Ramsauer model is a semi-classical, analytic approximation to nucleon-nucleus scattering that reproduces total cross section data at the 1% level for A > 40, E{sub n} = 5-60 MeV with 7-10 parameters. Description: Transmission measurements of niobium and zirconium at both extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) and ultraviolet, visible, and near infrared (UV/Vis/NIR) wavelengths are presented. Direct evidence of the fermi-energy-dependent formation of Mn interstitials in modulation doped Ga1-yAlyAs/Ga1-xMnxAs/Ga1-yAlyAs heterostructures

Description: Using ion channeling techniques, we investigate the lattice locations of Mn in Ga{sub 1-x}Mn{sub x}As quantum wells between Be-doped Ga{sub 1-y}Al{sub y}As barriers. The earlier results showed that the Curie temperature T{sub C} depends on the growth sequence of the epitaxial layers. Top quark physics at CDF

Description: The existence of the top quark, discovered by CDF and D0 in 1995, has been re-established in the burgeoning dataset being collected in Run 2 of the Tevatron at Fermilab. Results from CDF on the top quark production cross section and top quark mass are consistent with the Standard Model expectations. The well-characterized top data samples will make it possible in the future to probe further for new physics in the top quark sector. This report summarizes recent CDF top quark physics results.

Extractor Configurations for a Heavy Ion Fusion Volume Source
