School-Based Sedentary Behavior, Physical Activity, and Health-Related Outcomes among Hispanic Children in the United States: A Cross-Sectional Study

An Investigation of the Organizational Impact of Computer Technology in Secondary Science Classrooms

Description: This article investigates the organizational impact of computer technology on four secondary science teachers’ teaching actions using the construct of community of practice. Analysis of data reveals three social participation structures that collectively orchestrated students’ science content learning: (1) students’ membership, (2) access to the structured tasks, and (3) confirmation of students’ learning of science concepts.

School counseling prevention programming to address social determinants of mental health

Description: Article describes how school counselors can utilize the Advocating Student-within-Environment (ASE) theoretical lens as a liberation approach to strengthening students' capacity to overcome persistent adversity while addressing root causes of systemic oppression through policy change and advocacy at the school, community, and national levels. This study provides school counselors with an overview of ASE as a theoretical foundation for addressing social determinants of mental health in schools.
