Air Piece

Description: Recording of John Heineman's Air Piece. Air Piece is a theatrical piece made on magnetic tape. Essentially made up of aircraft sounds recorded at the airport, on the airstrip and inside the terminal itself, the various sound elements are only edited and mixed together as in cinematographic technique. The piece was created at the Electronic Laboratory of the Conservatory of Pesaro.

Description: Audio cassette from The Black Academy of Arts and Letters of a recorded apology statement from composer Jester Harston due to an illness preventing his attendance from a music conference. Jester Joseph Hairston was an American composer, songwriter, arranger, choral conductor and actor. He was regarded as a leading expert on black spirituals and choral music. The tape includes two track of clearly recorded audio.
