Description: Photograph of UNT's Union Gallery displaying photographs from Mayborn's "A Century of Excellence" exhibit. The prints on the right wall show UNT's campus, students who are in journalism, radio / television and who works with the school's newspaper. The prints on the left are student newspaper clippings for the University of North Texas. The newspaper was first published on November 1, 1916 under the title The Campus Chat. In 1970 the name was changed to The North Texas Daily. The prints in the exhibit show the transition of The North Texas Daily to what it looks like in today's print. There's a student in the gallery looking at the exhibit.

Allen, part of the reporting staff of the Akron Beacon Journal, wrote a series of stories on the differences, to try to help those in the community of segregated in neighborhoods better understand race relations and their own hidden biases. The following year, Allen earned a Pulitzer Prize when the reporting staff won the award for public service journalism. Allen and her fellow colleagues are returning to UNT for the Century of Excellence: The Pulitzer Prize's and Journalism's Impact on UNT exhibit and event.
