Sources Affecting PM₂̣ ₅ Concentrations at a Rural Semi-Arid Coastal Site in South Texas

Description: This article employs an advanced factor analysis technique with principal component analysis/absolute principal component scores and positive matrix factorization to apportion the sources influencing the PM₂̣ ₅ levels measured during 2003 through 2005 at a rural coastal site located within the Corpus Christi urban airshed in South Texas.

Sodium Hydroxide-Free Soy Protein Isolate-Based Films Crosslinked by Pentaerythritol Glycidyl Ether

Description: This article examines the chemical structures of biodegradable films created out of soy protein isolate (SPI), sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) and pentaerythritol glycidyl ether (PEGE). The thermal stabilities of the films were also examined by means of the thermo-gravimetric analysis.

Mechanical property enhancement of self-bonded natural fiber material via controlling cell wall plasticity and structure

Description: This article explores self-bonded natural fiber material (SNFM) as a promising alternative for plastic and wood owing to its abundant raw material resources and low environmental impact.
