Toque

Description: Toque hat of black felt. The brimless hat has a high, cylindrical crown which is higher in front than back; and with a sunken top which is domed at center. Around the front and sides are applied wide curving bands of black satin ribbon. The front and sides are overlaid by black net veiling, which extends slightly down over wearer's face. The hat is unlined. Stamped inside: "Body Made In / Italy / Union Made".

Picture hat

Description: Picture hat of off-white or cream lace. Very shallow crown with low dome and hatband of off-white velvet ribbon 1/2" wide with bow at back. Wide oval brim is set off-center, wider (6") at front than back (4"), and curving downwards slightly. Lined in a similar color net/mesh, the underside has an inner stiffened structure covered with velvet ribbon; extending wired triangular areas at sides help secure hat to wearer's head. No labels in hat.
