Description: Main stem reservoirs in the Columbia River Basin may have increased the energy demands of smolts during outmigration by prolonging migration and exposing smolts to seasonally rising water temperatures. Use of microprocessor to locate fish in experimental channels

Description: An RCA 1802 microprocessor is used to locate fish in a 400 m outdoor experimental channel at the US EPA Monticello Ecological Research Station. The system consists of horizontally polarized antennas spaced at 30m intervals. The antennas are sequentially switched into a microprocessor controls all timing, switching and maeasurement functions. Dworshak Dam Impact (Impacts) Assessment and Fishery Investigation.

Description: Kokanee abundance, estimated from July trawl data, was 1.2 million fish in 1988, including 553,000 fry, 501,000 yearlings and 156,000 subadults. Spawning trend data indicated escapement was up threefold compared to 1987, despite a sport harvest of 207,000 kokanee averaging 258 mm caught at a rate of 1.5 fish per hour. Utilization of warm well water, eastern Washington State

Description: Utilizing the warm well water for a geothermal greenhouse heating system is highly economically feasible. This is based on using the 88/sup 0/F water from Anderson Well No. 1 to heat greenhouses totaling approximately 10.6 acres.
