Evening Suit

Description: Evening suit of amethyst acetate with gold braid, embroidery and beads. a) Jacket in a short fitted style with long sleeves. Collarless with gold lace trim around neckline, center front and hem. Hidden center front closure of 4 large, black fabric-covered snaps supplemented with 2 hook & eyes. Fabric is woven with gold threads in a scalloped design embellished on front panels with gold beads and large gold teardrops. Gold lace trim also around armholes. Lined in amethyst satin acetate; padded shoulders. Victor Costa Sample label pinned to center back neckline with large Saks Fifth Avenue paper tag. b) Skirt of amethyst velvet in straight style. Knee length with 1" waistband. Center back opening with zipper and hook & bar on waistband. Lined in amethyst satin acetate.

Wedding Ensemble

Description: Wedding ensemble of ivory silk embroidered with green and yellow crewel flowers. The bodice of the dress is sleeveless, with scoop neck and fitted seaming. The skirt is floor-length at front, with train at back. The surface of the skirt is decorated with crewel embroidery of flowers in pinks, greens, reds, and blues. The lower part of the skirt has a wide band of lace in floral patterns, with an under layer of pleated plain net with embroidered dots. The dress has a center back zipper closure and is lined in ivory fabric, and has an attached petticoat. Matching the dress is a fitted jacket of ivory silk, long sleeves, and stand-up collar. The collar and cuffs are trimmed in the same net as the hem of the dress. The fitted jacket has a peplum and center front closure with four silk cord frog closures which snap on left side and disguise a series of snaps and hook-and-eyes. The collar, cuffs, and panels at front and back are bordered by striped bands of yellow, blue, green, and coral/pink ribbon. The panels formed on front and back have crewel embroidered flowers as the dress. Jacket is fully lined in ivory fabric. Not shown in photo is the accompanying hat of ivory silk. The low ivory silk brim is tear-drop in shape, the point at the front edge of the hat. The rolled brim encircles the lace crown and anchors the ivory net slight veil which extends around brim. At back of hat is short "tail" of net. Hat has an off-white grosgrain inner hat-band and a black cord to secure hat to wearer's head.

Evening Gown

Description: Evening gown of black velvet with scoop neckline and long, tapered sleeves. The full-length gown has 3 diagonal-set flounces from left hip to right knee that fall to the hem on right side; flounces are each 7 ½” of pleated synthetic and are slightly ruffled; bodice has crescent princess seams with gathering at bust; straight skirt has a left-side slit; sleeves have single snap closure at wrists; dress is fully lined in satin; center-back zip closure. Combined designer's and retailer's label: "Victor Costa / for / Lord & Taylor"

Description: Evening dress of black polyester with white polka-dots. Knee length. Strapless bodice in "crumb catcher" style with open split at center front. Midriff has 3 inch wide white grosgrain ribbon with 1/2 inch black ribbon applique; double bow of same at center front of midriff. Inverted pleats extending 8 inches from midriff to full skirt. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Built in petticoat with hook & bar closure and triple ruffles of black net at hem. Bodice is boned. Skirt is lined in black organdy and petticoat is lined in black polyester fabric. Designer's label to left of zipper: "Victor Costa". Union label below designer label. Description: Evening dress of red polyester satin. Bustier style bodice of coiled red piping with 2 inch wide shoulder straps of same. Full length, sarong style draped skirt. Knot of matching coil piping on left bottom of bodice and four long strands of same fabric having black faceted teardrop beads at the end of each strand. Center back zipper closure with hook & eye. Description: Evening dress of silver and gold lamé and lace. Full length. Off-the-shoulder, strapless bodice of silver and gold lace in a floral pattern with elbow length fitted sleeves. Fitted bodice is constructed in layers of white net, black net, and silver lace with gold cord applique. Sarong style tubular skirt of gold and silver crinkle lamé. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Black chiffon lining in skirt; bodice is boned and lined in gray synthetic. Description: Evening dress of black synthetic velvet. Full-length; straight silhouette. Standing collar. Dress is of asymmetrical design with a diagonal from right shoulder to left hip of black lace embellished with floral patterns of black sequins. Triangular inset at left side from waist to hem of black lace matching bodice. Long sleeves; left sleeve of lace has snap closure and right sleeve of velvet has zipper closure. Center back concealed zipper with two hooks & eyes at collar. Main body of dress is lined with black polyester; laced areas are lined with beige polyester with left sleeve lined in black synthetic organza. Shoulder pads. Ensemble - Blouse and Skirt

Description: Greek inspired evening ensemble of black velvet, yellow satin, and embroidered appliques with purple satin skirt. A) Blouse styled to appear as a vest of black rayon velvet trimmed with bands of floral and leaf motif embroidery with gold braid, beads, and multicolored embroidered flowers. Center front opening with closure of 5 large covered snaps. Large floral appliques on center back and at center front opening. Over-sized puffed sleeves of yellow rayon/silk blend satin to elbows; 2-1/2" cuffs have closure of two covered snaps. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Victor Costa" Union label attached under designer label. Fiber content label at right side seam. B) Skirt in purple rayon/silk blend satin. Full, gathered, floor length. Center back zipper closure with two hook & bars on the 2" waistband. Slit pockets at side seams. Description: Cocktail suit of royal blue douppioni silk, consisting of:. A) Long jacket with Nehru collar; slightly fitted. Front, opening, hem, cuffs, shoulders, pockets, and back yoke elaborately embellished with white embroidery, white seed beading, and ribbon work in floral patterns. Long sleeves. Bolero style bodice of purple velour appliqued front and back with multicolored beads, sequins and gold tinsel cord in floral pattern; deep V-shaped neckline. Over-sized leg-o'-mutton sleeves with 4-1/2" cuffs of matching velour appliques and zipper closures. Full pleats from midriff into full skirt. Center back zipper closure with hook & eye. Dropped waist with eight gores of taffeta matching collar, forming a petal shaped, full skirt. Center back zipper. Upper dress lined in green satin synthetic with 2" black grosgrain petersham. Wedding Dress

Description: Wedding ensemble. The dress is of creme satin styled as a sleeveless A-line dress, with wide shoulder straps. The neckline of the bodice is embellished with rows of satin cording forming a cross-over design. The skirt has a high waistline, and is formed of a lattice of groups of four vertical and four horizontal rows of satin cording, with a backing of creme gauze.
