Strontium, Strontium-90, and Calcium Analyses of Clinch and Tennessee River Clams

Description: Analyses of clam shells for Sr, Sr/sup 90/, and Ca are reported. The data include 208 Sr, 80 Sr/sup 90/, and 35 Ca analyses. Information on age of the clam and shell weight are also included because the Sr concentration in some shells is affected by age and growth rate. Remaining Sites Verification Package for the 128-F-3 PNL Burn Pit, Waste Site Reclassification Form 2006-042

Description: The 128-F-3 waste site is a former burn pit associated with the 100-F Area experimental animal farm. The site was overlain by coal ash associated with the 126-F-1 waste site and could not be located during confirmatory site evaluation. The Relationship Between the Surface Appearance and Depth of Damage of Subfabric and Bare Skin Burns Produced by Radiant Thermal Energy

Description: In a series of 600 cutaneous burns in swine produced by radiant thermal energy at 0.5 and 5.0 sec exposure time, the relationship of thc surface appearance and the depth of damage of bare skin and subfabric burns was investigated. The fabrics used were a black and a gray sateen weighing 8 to 9 oz/ yd/sup 2/. Bioassay Procedure to Evaluate the Acute Toxicity of Salinity and Geothermal Pollutants (Pesticides) to Gambusia Affinis. Final Report

Description: The salinity tolerance of Gambusia affinis was determined in static bioassays. Gambusia easily tolerated salinity of 47.5 percent in 96 hour static bioassays. Survival at this level was 93.3 percent with the lowest survival being 68 percent at 40 percent salinity. The acute toxicities of endrin, DDT, aldrin, and dieldrin to Gambusia were determined by static and intermittent-flow bioassays. Description: Fallout radiation protection factors (PF's) were estimated for a variety of civilian transportation vehicles using measurements of the natural terrain radiation as a source. Fission track analysis of plutonium in small specimens of biological material: Ultrasensitive analysis for sup 239 Pu in 50 urine samples from the Marshall Islands furnished by Brookhaven National Laboratory

Description: A neutron induced fission track method was successfully developed for assaying {sup 239}Pu in human urine. The technique involves means to remove potentially interfering natural uranium from the sample and reagents.
