Kinetics

Description: Recording of Adolfo Núñez's Kinetics. This work was written for flute, clarinet, piano, and tape. It was dedicated to the Phonos Laboratory (Barcelona) on its 25th anniversary. The goal of the piece was to explore the relationships between the instruments sonorities as well as their possible electronic transformations. The title suggests movement in general and the composer plays with the movement of sound material and shape.

Description: Recording of Adolfo Núñez's X-rays from beyond. This work is dedicated to the memory of French author, Jules Verne, and his novels. The composer used the discovery and invention of x-rays as inspiration for this piece as well as media about science fiction from the 1950's and 1960's, in which many movies were made from Jules Verne novels.

Water Boulder Music

Description: Recording of Adolfo Núñez's Water Boulder Music. This work takes the primary sound source of water and heavily processes it. In the sound transformations the composer follows his erratic improvisation rather than a predetermined method. In this work, the composer was able to relax and play with sound in order to get many new materials.

Analysis of real-time reservoir monitoring : reservoirs, strategies, & modeling.

Description: The project objective was to detail better ways to assess and exploit intelligent oil and gas field information through improved modeling, sensor technology, and process control to increase ultimate recovery of domestic hydrocarbons.
