Social Security and the Federal Budget: What Does Social Security's Being "Off Budget" Mean?

Description: As a result of a series of laws enacted in 1983, 1985 and 1990, Social Security is considered to be “off-budget” for federal budget purposes. While the meaning of this might seem obvious — that Social Security is not to be considered as part of the federal budget — many people are perplexed by the continued use of aggregate budget figures that include Social Security’s receipts and expenditures.

Description: The following report documents results taken from a reconnaissance geochemical survey that was conducted in the northwest-trending Alexander terrane, Gravina-Nutzotin overlap assemblage, and Taku terrane in southeast Alaska in the Craig and Dixon Entrance quadrangles and the western edges of the Ketchikan and Prince Rupert quadrangles.

Hawaiian Monk Seal Observations at French Frigate Shoals, 1984

Description: The following report is based on an observational study on the Hawaiian monk seal conducted at French Frigate Shoals in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. The study takes place with various intervals between the 26th of December of 1983 and the 20th of October of 1984. The data collected are based around population structure, reproduction, and factors affecting survival.
