[Sweet Estes teaching backpacking class]

Description: Photograph of Sweet Estes teaching a backpacking class with her dog, Thor, by her side. Miss Estes owned and operated three barns in and around the Denton area starting in 1961, one of which was located behind Chilton Hall, on campus. She charged $0.25 an hour for riding lessons, eventually earning enough money to put her and her sister through college. During her career, she became the North Texas physical education instructor where she taught badminton and conditioning training.
