The young man is tentatively identified as Robert Rogers Jr., who won the Alumni Award, and the Outstanding Senior award from the Department of Biological Sciences. The young lady may be either Mildred Ellen Hopkins, who also won the Alumni Award, or Cheryl Alison Crowder, who also won the Outstanding Senior award from the Department of Biological Sciences.
