Fan

Description: Folding fan of cockade type. Red metal handle embossed with birds and flowering vines. The pleated paper fans forms a full circle. One side printed with a scene of a long-tailed bird (Phoenix?) sitting amid flowering branches with gold background. Reverse is printed with a scene of two birds flying over flowering branches. Marked in metal of handle: "Midget Fan / No. 104" and "Made in Hong Kong".

Description: Photographs depicting multiple scenes that feature Ted Craeger, Chuck Suber, Marshall Brown, and Gene Hall. There photos are arranged in four columns and three rows. The first row is made up of three shots of two women in a dark room. One woman is in the background and largely obscured by darkness. The woman in the foreground has short hair, is wearing a floral print, and is reading a magazine. The second column has Gene Hall standing to the right among other men. The bottom photograph has Hall standing while other men sit at tables in a room with brick walls. The first picture of the third column is of four men standing together in a room. A man wearing glasses and holding a cigarette addresses the other three. The second photo of the third column features the same man talking to two other people in a dark room decorated with small chairs and tall curtains. Description: Pair of pumps of multicolored striped pleated satin. Designed with pointed toe, the upper of the shoe is formed of pleated/pin-tucked multicolored satin which creates narrow stripes running across the shoe of purples, violet, white, greens, yellow, blues, pinks, etc. The 3" off-white leather covered spike heel tapers to base. Brand stamped inside: "CustomCraft" Handwritten inside: "27" and "5 1/2 B / 1270 / 10332E"

Description: Photograph of an unidentified man receiving a shampooing at a barbershop. His hair is being made into a mohawk shape by the barber while his hair is still covered in suds. The photograph was part of a photo series entitled "The Works" that was published in the February 1952 issue of Friends Magazine.

Uncle Alex Cline - The Blacksmith

Description: Photograph of Alex Cline building a wagon wheel to be used for farming equipment in his blacksmith shop in Tennessee. He is using a measuring tool to mark one of the spokes. Alex Cline and his brother Wade were blacksmiths and wheelwrights. Joe Clark would often remark that "The handwriting was already on the walls." meaning that the automobile parts hanging on the back wall were already tolling the changes to come.
