An Ecological Survey of the Vertebrate Fauna of White Oak Lake and Environs

Description: From introduction: This report is a survey of the composition and abundance of the various species of fish present. Other features to be noted are the rate of growth and the condition of the individual fish as indicated by the relationship between the length and weight. In addition, observations on the success of reproduction, the ability of any species to maintain itself as an integral part of the population and food supply.

Notes on Eastern Oil Shale Drilling

Description: Purpose: The primary objective of the eastern oil shale drilling was to obtain cores of the Chattanooga shale, from considerable depths and at long distances from its outcrops. Correlation of the cores with outcrop samples showed the effect of weathering on the shale, as well as changes in the stratigraphy. Of secondary interest was acquisition of information on the stratigraphy of the overlying rocks.

Use of Digital Land-Cover Data from the Landsat Satellite in Estimating Streamflow Characteristics in the Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee

Description: From introduction: The objective of the present study is to test the feasibility of improving upon the regression equations for estimating streamflow in areas affected by coal mining in the Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee by using land-cover information derived from digital processing of Landsat spectral data. The purpose of this report is to summarize the procedures and significant results of this study.

BRAC Commission Material - GC Litigation Complaint - Bredesen v. Rumsfeld (Tennessee)

Description: The following complaints for litigation brought against the Commission (and its individual Commissioners) were formally served on the Commissioners. Please note that the Commission and the Commissioners were not named in Rendell v. Rumsfeld (Docket No. 05-4740), a related case involving the Secretary of Defense's proposed deactivation of the 111th Fighter Wing located at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, Willow Grove, PA. As of March 31, 2006, the Commission and the Commissioners have been dismissed from all actions with the exception of lawsuits filed in Connecticut and Washington. The lawsuits filed in New Jersey (Corzine v. Rumsfeld) and Massachusetts (Romney v. Rumsfeld) have been dismissed. The Chattanooga Shale of Tennessee as a Source of Uranium: Final Report

Description: From major objective: The over-all aim of the study has been to obtain a thorough geologic picture of the Chattanooga shale in the area under consideration, with emphasis upon stratigraphic relationships and associated special problems from which, in turn, implications may be obtained as to the origin and age of the formation and possibly the source of the uranium. The study has not been aimed primarily at exploration for uranium and its economic aspects.
