An Investigation of the Importance of the Art of Hand Lettering in the Field of Advertising Art

Description: This thesis concerns the utility of including the art of hand lettering in a curriculum of a university advertising art program. Data secured from 155 questionnaires sent to 266 advertising firms in five states were analyzed by simple descriptive statistics including frequency counts and percentages. Two hypotheses were examined, and it is concluded that hand lettering is still needed in advertising art and should be taught in university art programs.

Food Habits of Stoneflies (Plecoptera) in the Gunnison and Dolores Rivers, Colorado

Description: Gut contents of 2,500 stonefly nymphs, comprising 10 species, from the Gunnison and Dolores Rivers, Colorado were examined from Dec., 1974-Oct., 1975. Perlidae species were carnivorous feeding primarily on chironomids, mayflies and caddisflies. Seasonal patterns of ingestion and preference varied among species and predator sizes and between rivers. Proposed Exploration for Uranium in the Front Range Mineral Belt, Colorado

Description: From abstract: Recorded production of pitchblende in the United States totals 313 tons of ore containing about 15 percent uranium. Of this total, 303 tons was produced at Central City and 8 tons at Lawson prior to World War I. The remaining 2 tons has been mined at Caribou during the past two years and is being stockpiled at the mine.

Electrical Resistivity Investigations of Carnotite Deposits in the Colorado Plateau

Description: From abstract: An investigation of the use of geophysical methods in prospecting for carnotite deposits in the Colorado Plateau was made by the Geophysics Branch of the U. S. Geological Survey between April 21 and June 24, 1949. Results of this preliminary work indicated that electrical resistivity methods could be used successfully.
