Greens Creek Uranium Occurrence, Marquette County, Michigan

Description: From abstract: Metatorbernite and bassetite are present in altered carbonaceous and quartzose slate of probable upper Huronian age. The slate is part of a small inlier of Huronian rocks between the Gwinn iron district to the southeast and the Marquette iron district to the northwest, Marquette County, Mich. Condition Survey: K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Michigan

Description: "The purpose of this report is to present the results of a condition survey performed at K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base (KISAFB), Michigan, during 24-25 April 1972. The three major areas of interest considered in this condition survey were the structural condition of the primary airfield pavements, the condition of pavement repairs and the types of maintenance materials that have been used at this airfield, and any detrimental effects of frost to the pavement facilities" (p. 1).

Description: From abstract: The Palmer area, which is on the south limb of the Marquette synclinorium, consists of a down-faulted block of pre-Cambrian sedimentary rocks about 4 miles long and three-quarters of a mile wide. The block is composed mainly of middle Huronian Ajibik quartzite and Negaunee iron-formation and upper Huronian Goodrich quartzite,.
