1985 Oil Production of 21 Oil Producing Non-OPEC Countries

Description: This report assesses the possibility of increased oil production from 21 less developed non-OPEC countries (excluding the Middle East and Mexico) by 1985. The forecast is compared with those prepared by the World Bank, the International Energy Agency, and others. Description: From abstract: Radioactive manganese deposits have been found in two swamps and at one locality on the northeast bank of the Rio Itapicuru near Mosquete, municipio of Itapicuru, State of Bahia, Brazil. The occurrences are related to warm springs and consist of surficial manganiferous sinter and of sandstone impregnated with manganese.

Stock Returns and the Brazilian Default an Analysis of the Efficient Market and Contagion Effect Hypotheses

Description: This thesis attempts to analyze the market response of stock prices of major U.S. banks to the February, 1987 Brazilian loan default announcement. The study's general hypothesis is that the market revalued stock prices according to each bank's amount of Brazilian loan exposure.
