Music Appreciation: To What End?

Description: This paper was awarded a Nicholas and Anna Ricco Ethics Award for 2013. This paper discusses music appreciation. The author looks at who is qualified to teach a Music Appreciation course, what the true purpose of such a course is in the general curriculum, and what our responsibility in musically educating our citizens is.

Ethics of Teaching: Beliefs and Behaviors of Community College Faculty

Description: This study examines the ethical beliefs and behaviors of full-time community college faculty. Respondents report to what degree they practice sixty-two behaviors as teachers and whether they believe the behaviors to be ethical. Description: Duet literature remains largely untapped as a pedagogical tool in the undergraduate voice studio.
